The European Patent Office (EPO) offers inventors a uniform application procedure which enables them to seek patent protection in up to 40 European countries. However, the way in which the EPO deals with some of the standard patent issues is quite dissimilar to most other jurisdictions.
Greg Bartlett, a Partner in our Adelaide office, has recently returned from a four day workshop on European patent law, which provided him with a number of updates and insights into the EPO.
