POF Partner, Greg Bartlett was a guest at the global #30in30in30 pitching event in Adelaide on Tuesday 6 October. The #30in30in30 event is an initiative supported by Aging2.0 to encourage local communities around the world to host pitching events for new innovative products and services that will improve the lives of older adults. There will be 30 pitch events in 30 days in 30 cities around the world. Other pitching events have been held in the USA, China, Japan, Israel, Belgium, Canada, the UK, Germany and Taiwan.
The Adelaide event was the first of two pitching events in Australia, the second of which will be held on Thursday 8 October in Sydney. There were seven pitches made by Australian start-up businesses in the aged care space, all of which had a connection to Adelaide. As a member of the large and enthusiastic audience, Greg was involved in the voting process, which involved each member of the audience submitting a short survey about the pitches after each presentation. The results were then calculated in real time, with an overall winner announced at the end of the evening.
The winner of the Adelaide event was Adelaide-based Innovo Healthcare, who presented an innovative yet simple frame that helps patients to rise from their beds to standing position. Innovo Healthcare has been working with the Flinders University Medical Device Partnering Program (MDPP) for two years. Innovo Healthcare will now attend the Aging2.0 Expo in San Francisco in November to pitch in the international Pitch-for-Pilots event.
POF would like to congratulate Innovo Healthcare and wish the team the best of luck at San Francisco!
