POF is proud to support International Women’s Day 2022 to collectively help #BreakTheBias in the workplace and throughout society.
We acknowledged IWD by holding a morning tea across our three offices to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. We were delighted to be joined by guest presenter, Madison Hartill-Law, in our Melbourne office.
Madi is the founder of Shirty Science, as well as a member and one of the creators of STEM Women, an online directory of women in Australia working in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. STEM Women aims to promote gender equity by showcasing the breadth of scientific talent in Australia. Madi provided an insight into her achievements and challenges throughout her career in STEM and discussed how she has advocated for & viewed the changes in regard to inclusion and diversity for women.
It is important to recognise that biases are very difficult to shift. I spend my days advocating for gender equality in health and STEM and often still picture Albert Einstein when I think of a scientist.

Also, POF professionals Anita Brown, Russell Waters and Annabella Newton attended the ACBC IWD High Tea at the RACV City Club in Melbourne yesterday. We were delighted to host a table for our clients and guests, and it was inspirational to hear from a diverse range of eminent speakers who have helped paved the way for future generations of women leaders.
