Phillips Ormonde Fitzpatrick is thrilled to announce the elevation of Duncan Joiner to be a Principal of the firm. Duncan has been a member of the Phillips Ormonde Fitzpatrick Engineering team for many years and is primarily involved in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in Australia and around the world for both local and international clients. It has been a pleasure to watch Duncan’s journey within the firm over the past decade and we look forward now to what he will bring to the Partnership.
Duncan joined POF in 2012. He has degrees in Engineering (Aerospace) and Law from Monash University. Duncan’s university research into surface acoustic waves was published in the Journal of Applied Optics. Duncan was drawn to the IP profession as an ideal blend of his engineering and legal backgrounds and he has since grown a broad patent practice spanning various engineering disciplines. In 2023, Duncan was recognised as one of the ‘Rising Stars’ in the ManagingIP IP Stars directory.
“It is an honour to have reached this milestone at POF where I’m fortunate each day to work with terrific clients and colleagues. It’s amazing how quickly the years pass when you’re engaged with new ideas each day. I am excited to contribute to POF’s continued success offering great culture for its people and helping our clients protect and commercialise their IP.” – Duncan Joiner
Please join us in wishing Duncan the best for his new role.
