Similar to the already existing agreement between the Portuguese Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) and the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (SPTO), INPI has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of a Patent Prosecution Highway Project (PPH) with the Japan Patent Office (JPO), which commenced on the 18th of April 2012.
