New Zealand legislative changes – An overview and update
The Patents Act 2013 was passed by the New Zealand parliament earlier this year, heralding significant changes to the previous Act. Most of the new provisions will commence on 13 September 2014, and it is important that all applicants and practitioners are fully aware of these changes and how they will affect filing in New Zealand.
At this seminar, we will discuss these legislative changes including the following topics:
- The purposes of the new law
- The cost and complexity involved in obtaining and maintaining the grant of a New Zealand patent
- The important changes to examination, post-grant and maintenance procedures introduced by the new Act
- Recommendations for applicants and practitioners
The duration of the seminar will be approximately 1 hour.
