Rou Jun is a trainee patent attorney with a robust background in chemistry and materials science. She earned her Ph.D. in Chemistry and Biological Chemistry from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, in 2017, focusing on electrochemical sensing and energy applications.

Before joining POF, Rou Jun conducted research as a postdoctoral research fellow at CSIRO (2017-2020) and later at RMIT University (2020-2024). At CSIRO, she developed biomaterial interfaces with significant impacts on biomedical science and environmental remediation. Her expertise in materials characterisation led her to a position at RMIT as part of the Surface Engineering for Advanced Materials (SEAM) ARC training centre, where she specialised in metal additive manufacturing and corrosion. In particular, she worked on optimising the surface properties of additive components in collaboration with Romar Engineering Pty Ltd. Rou Jun has published numerous articles in internationally recognised journals.

Passionate about enhancing the global competitiveness of companies, Rou Jun serves as the Vice-President of Materials Australia (VIC/TAS branch). In this role, she has organized numerous events to promote professional development, innovation, and networking within the materials community.

As a trainee patent attorney, Rou Jun aims to leverage her extensive scientific expertise to protect and advance technological innovations. She is currently working towards obtaining registration as a Trans-Tasman Patent Attorney.
