POF Celebrates World IP Day

World Intellectual Property Day is an annual celebration held on 26 April to promote discussion of the role of intellectual property in encouraging innovation and creativity.

This day was created by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), which is the United Nations’ agency dedicated to the use of patents, copyright, trade marks, designs etc. as a means of stimulating new ideas and driving technology forward.

26 April was the date on which the WIPO Convention came into force in 1970, and since then World IP Day is celebrated on a global scale.

We are extremely proud of our involvement in IP over the last 125 years both nationally and internationally, and we are excited to see what the next 125 years of creativity and innovation will bring!

To find out more about how people are celebrating across the world and see people’s latest inventions, activities and photos visit the World IP Day Facebook page.
