It is with great sadness that we advise that former Principal of POF, David Tadgell, passed away a few days ago.
David joined Phillips Ormonde Fitzpatrick in 1983 and became a partner in 1993. David was a key member of the Chemistry & Life Sciences group at POF and served on our management committee and board. David also mentored many attorneys over the years. He retired from POF in 2024, after 41 years with the firm.
David was incredibly well-respected by his peers and within the world of IP. Outside of the firm, David was very active in the profession. He was a Councillor of the Institute of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys of Australia (IPTA) for many years, was a Senior Fellow at the Melbourne law School, and was also a Past President of AIPPI Australia.
David will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Our thoughts are with his wife Lisa and their children, friends and colleagues during this sad time.
